The topic I want to talk about today is a one you can also consider as a new leadership knowledge in your own leadership journey and it is this: Subject Matter Expert and How to Position Yourself as a Subject Matter Expert!

Have you ever heard of a Subject Matter Expert or a SME?

Well initially it started out as being a term utilised in specific areas and you would have to be incredibly good around a particular topic, area, skill, knowledge, insight. It is almost like if you imagine someone doing a PHD/Doctorate in a really focused discipline, area, subject.

So that is what a Subject Matter Expert is considered to be in a very broad sense.

Now, How to Position Yourself as a Subject Matter Expert? Very often it is categorised in these main areas:

Subject Matter Expert who are involved in detailed:

o Research
o Technology
o Science
o Mathematics
o Finance

What about you? Even if you are not a Subject Matter Expert, y what I am trying to say is that you can and should become very narrow and focused in a particular core area of leadership skill, leadership knowledge … so acquiring:

• Skills
• Knowledge
• Research
• Analysis
